A desired result can range from efficiently providing a better outcome or more efficient way of doing something. As the years go on the chemistry field is ever expanding and finding new discoveries for desired results.

The industrial revolution brought many new methods of applied technology and required the invention of brand new technology. Chemistry is everywhere nowadays, everything you see, hear, smell, taste and touch has some sort of chemicals or matter involved. Just using your nose subconsciously you are using many different senses that use chemical reactions to determine the origin and type of smell you are sensing.

It was once thought that chemists only worked in laboratories with chemicals and this was chemistry. But we are now calling everything that is physical in nature chemicals and chemists study these chemicals into different elements as a part of chemistry. Everything that is physical can be called matter. Matter takes up space and has a mass.

So chemistry is basically the study of chemicals and how they react with each other. Many chemists play with the basic and most common of elements. Most chemists find the reactions of elements when combined to be the most interesting part of chemistry. A great example at the power of the elements would be a soft silvery metal called sodium and when added to water sodium reacts creating heat and gives off a hydrogen gas. Which can cause a pretty big explosion. Also the element Chlorine is a gas, and at room temperature shows itself as a green gas. Chlorine has been used in many warfare weapons as chlorine can be very dangerous to humans. Two very basic elements when mixed with other elements cause very toxic and violent results. So you may be thinking what sort of chemical would be produced when sodium and chlorine are mixed. Well one on the most recognized chemical reactions known; sodium chloride, or table salt. Funny because we eat small amounts of salt on a daily basis. With these two potentially dangerous chemical compounds.

Chemistry can have very mixed results from mixing different chemicals. And the way chemistry is growing as a result of the technology we are using is very fascinating.

Future of chemistry

Thinking back to 1900s it would have been hard to predict the advanced technology we use in everyday life today. A major discovery could happen tomorrow. Chemistry has the biggest discovery yet to find and alternative energy is the main contributing factor to this theory. Scientists are constantly searching for different sources than fuel for energy. Some chemists and scientists believe there is power to be harnessed in the chemical compounds and their reactions we use everyday.

So predicting what will be discovered and when is plausible judging from previous advancements. It is really hard to say what exactly. One future prediction are bio chemically made robots once the gaps between biology and chemistry can be bridged and the relationship understood more. These robots will be self sufficient, making their own power through bio and chemical reactions. Most future automated robots will likely be used as production robots.

Technology areas with chemistry

Orthodontists and endodontists both use many chemical compounds to complete procedures. Endodontists use rubber compound fillers made by chemistry in root canals. Orthodontists use special chemical reacting compounds to bound brace brackets onto teeth.

Windshields have a chemistry background accounting for the glue, the mixed compounds in the glass and the water repelling technology of the windshields.

Junk yards have a variety of chemical compounds and on average the fifteen major compounds found in junkyards are in a gas, liquid and solid state. From rubber, car fluids, gasoline, air conditioning lines and the list goes on. A junk yard can be a gold mine of chemical compounds.

Pregnancy has many chemical reactions from the pregnancy test calculating a positive conception to the powerful chemicals that change the host both in mind and body to prepare for birth.

Tattoos or tattoo ink are not often explored by people or thought of as there is no regulation in the inks used in tattooing and the content of the inks. Many inks used are not known in nature to what and how much chemicals or compounds are in them.
